How woodwork can change

So for Margaux's birthday, she received the same gift (from the same relative) that Spence did, 2 years ago.

Wow, what a difference just two years makes! The Spencer one looks like cr**P!!!

Bragging

Hi

Margaux did summer camp this year for a month and here are a couple of shots of her. I know, I'm biased but she is so beautiful!!

Fly British! (not necessarily Airways)

Sorry but have to nag...

When a Brit flies home, they don't want to pay for a drink, they want a drink! Why doesn't anyone other than a British airline get that? But that's what Continental tried doing on my recent trip back home, and let me tell you. It sucked. I had a cup of tea. Something in my 21 one years of transatlantic flying I have never done.

BULLS******!!!

I know, I hate BA after their horrific experience earlier in the year, but at least they know that us BRITS, need a beverage going across that vast Atlantic and don't expect us to dig into two different purses (in my organised case) searching for pounds and dollars to pay for a really dodgy glass of wine.

Go Virgin! (or BA if really desperate)

Spiderman, spiderman...

Back from a FANTASTIC trip back home.. (more on that later)
but in the meantime, came back, first thing as always - trip to Costco... (my favourite). They had costumes for sale (that's what I love about Costco, you never know what you are going to get in store) and Spence laid his eyes on a new Spidey costume. We were fortunate in March to get a second hand one from our friends Sally and Ian in Switzerland, but this one.. had a MASK, and GLOVES!! so for $18.99 we HAD to get it!! We also bought Margaux a snow white one but it looks like it'll work in a year or two from now.

Here is the evidence... he refuses to take it off....

AMC and Food Network run my Sunday nights

SORRY KATH but about to talk about American telly...
I am currently ENGROSSED with Sunday night tv over here. It's the new Thursday night of TV! I have no social life on Sunday's anymore.

First of all, they started a new show called Rubicon - people magazine called it 'challenging but engrossing' - which pretty much says it all. At first I wasn't sure I would sustain the brain power to make it through the first episode but I somehow did and couldn't wait for the second which came right after. Then of course, Mad Men is pretty powerful tv, although the current main lead is such a hateful person it makes me want to hurl something at the telly.

BUT what really got me was the Next Food Network star - I was a bawling WRECK watching it where the contestants haven't seen their families in 8 weeks and then get a surprise visit. One of them has a 3 year old boy and when he left her and was crying, and then she was crying, I was literally crying buckets, it was stupid emotional tv editing at its best and tugged at every heart string I have.

I want Tom to win - go Tom!! He is the best contestant by far and he gets my vote. Shame we can't actually vote on it so nobody really cares what I think!

Two New York Nights

Here is Spence at the Mets game with his mate, Ivan. We go to the game once a year with him and his family. I just people watch as have NO idea what is going on and drink too much beer. One of these days I'll know what a 'home run' is...

And here we are last week down at the local park - they play kids movies every Thursday at sunset for free, if you can't guess, last week's film was Finding Nemo, check out the amazing views in the background! Yep, that's the Empire State to the left of the screen, it looks further away than it is. The view never gets old from this side of the river.

On another note, I wonder why I am so constantly broke. Currently I have someone here cleaning our fish tank ($60), cleaning the apartment ($80) and the kids are with their Mexican babysitter getting their two hours of Spanish in every week ($40). I am Larissa LLC... If I could only learn to clean a salt fish tank, speak Spanish, and be a better cleaner, I could save myself a bob or two!!
